Veteran Nollywood actress, Shaffy Bello, has shared details about a major personal decision she made many years ago regarding childbirth.

Naija News reports that the thespian revealed that she underwent a medical procedure to stop having more children.

The actress made the disclosure during a conversation about motherhood on her YouTube channel, Shaffy Bello TV.

While discussing her experience as a mother, Bello explained that she decided to tie her fallopian tubes about 26 years ago because she did not want to have many children.

She explained that the decision came despite her former husband wanting them to expand their family.

According to her, he pleaded with her to have another child, but she had already made up her mind about limiting the number of children she would have.

Bello explained that the procedure was carried out through her navel and involved doctors tying her fallopian tubes so that she would no longer be able to conceive.

She said the process was simple, and it permanently stopped the release of eggs needed for pregnancy.

The actress said she had always been certain about the kind of family size she wanted and did not feel the need to have many children.

She said, “My ex-husband had to beg for me to have another one. I didn’t want a lot of children. I wanted to stop. So they went through my navel, went in there, did what they needed to do, and they tied it up. That was it. They closed my eggs. I’ve always said to myself that after tying my tubes, if I get pregnant, I will feel like Mary, it’s a holy child.”
