Family of Suspended RCCG Pastor Files Petition Against Blogger Gistlover Over Homosexuality Allegations

The family of Ayorinde AdeBello, a suspended pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has filed a formal petition against popular blogger, Gistlover, accusing the platform of publishing unfounded allegations of homosexuality.

The family’s petition, addressed to the Assistant Inspector General of Police, asserts that the claims have caused significant emotional distress and endangered AdeBello’s safety.

The accusations against AdeBello emerged in a viral post on Gistlover, alleging that he engaged in same-sex relationships with young men, supposedly in exchange for career opportunities.

Following these claims, RCCG issued an internal memo on October 28, 2024, suspending AdeBello and another pastor pending a full investigation.

In response, AdeBello publicly denied the allegations, stating, “I never engaged in sodomy with male teenagers.”

He said his initial silence was misinterpreted as an admission of guilt, compelling him to speak out. His family’s petition emphasizes that the accusations lack credible evidence and have been harmful to AdeBello’s personal and professional life.

The family has requested a fair investigation, pledging full cooperation with authorities to establish the truth. They hope to clear AdeBello’s name and restore his reputation amid what they consider baseless and damaging claims.
