Government announces free school enrollment, provision of uniforms, textbooks, exercise books, pencils, and pens for students
by EMG · Eleven Media Group Co., LtdThe Ministry of Education has announced that no fees will be charged during student enrollment and that school uniforms, textbooks, exercise books, pencils, and pens will be provided free of charge.
In a notification regarding enrollment for the 2026–2027 academic year in basic education schools, the ministry stated that students will not be required to pay any fees, including school fees, parent-teacher association fees, sports fees, stationery fees, or library fees.
According to the notification, textbooks, exercise books, pencils, and pens will be distributed free of charge to students from Kindergarten (KG) through Grade 12 in accordance with their respective academic levels.
The Ministry of Education also urged parents and guardians not to offer money or gifts to school principals, teachers, or school staff.
