Three Killed, Four Injured in Express Bus Collision on Yangon–Mandalay Highway

Three people were killed and four others injured when two express buses collided on the Yangon–Mandalay Highway, according to the Myanmar Fire Services Department.

The accident occurred at about 3 a.m. on 22 June near milepost 117/7, when a Shwe Mandalar Express bus crashed into the rear of a Yadanar Phyo Express bus. Three men and a novice monk were injured, while three men died in the collision, the department said.

The deceased and injured were transported by ambulances from the Red Cross and Myoma Social Assistance Association to Pyu Township People’s Hospital for treatment and further procedures.

Rescue operations were carried out by firefighters from the 115-Mile Highway Fire Station, who deployed a fire engine and personnel to the scene.
