George Clooney Isn’t Forgetting Tarantino’s Harsh Words Against Paul Dano

by · VULTURE

You know what they say: One man’s least favorite actors are another man’s treasure. And by another man, we mean a good chunk of Hollywood, including George Clooney. The Jay Kelly actor showed his support for Paul Dano, Matthew Lillard, and Owen Wilson, one month after Quentin Tarantino called Dano the “worst actor in SAG” and then said he “didn’t care for” Lillard and Wilson. “By the way, Paul Dano and Owen Wilson and Matthew Lillard, I would be honored to work with those actors. Honored,” Clooney exclaimed during his Best Actor acceptance speech at the AARP Movies for Grown Ups awards, per Variety.

In his effort to rebuild the broken bridge between actors and directors, the humanitarian shared his love for his fellow actors and reminded the crowd that actors are people, too. “People I’ve known most of my life … actually, most of them are actors. I have a great affinity [for them], and I don’t enjoy watching people be cruel,” he continued. “We are living in a time of cruelty. We don’t need to be adding to it.” This is a warning: If you’re a director talking smack on a podcast, then A-list stars are still going to be bringing it up more than a month later.
