The You Can See Everything Trailer Is No Lie

Nathan Fielder has taken on airline crashes, his fear of intimacy, and a man who drinks his grandson’s pee, but Elizabeth Holmes might be his most formidable opponent subject yet. His upcoming documentary, You Can See Everything, follows Theranos founder Holmes in the time leading up to her incarceration, and the trailer showcases the kind of terrifying ability to convince that made her famous. “You really feel you did nothing wrong?” Fielder asks her as the film opens. “I did not,” she responds. When Fielder asks how she arrived at the point where she’s about to serve prison time for defrauding people, she just says, “I wish I knew” with a little laugh. Scary!

The trailer also teases Fielder getting some FaceTime with Holmes’s husband, Billy Evans, who appears to have an unshakable belief in his wife. “Weren’t you worried she was, sort of, scamming you?” Fielder asks him. “One hundred percent, but what did she have to gain from me?” he responds. When Fielder points out that he comes from wealth, Evans responds with a real stunner: “Yeah, I think there are a lot of different levels of wealth.” 

The documentary was filmed in secret, then premiered without warning at the Telluride Film Festival. It was directed by Fielder and Primetime director Lance Oppenheim. “I really am struggling to this day to understand exactly what I experienced,” Fielder said following the screening, per Vanity Fair. “And one of the things I’m genuinely excited about is for this movie to come out and for people to help me understand what I experienced. Truly, to this day, I don’t quite know what I went through.” It will next play the New York Film Festival, then arrive in theaters worldwide on October 16. And we promise we’re not deceiving you.
