Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott have welcomed their first child together. According to TMZ, Plaza gave birth to a baby girl during the last week of July. She was spotted holding the new baby in New York City on Sunday, August 9, after seeing Abbott as Biff Loman in the final performance of Broadway’s Death of a Salesman, for which he earned a Tony nomination earlier this year. It’s unclear whether the baby saw the play and, if so, what she thought of Nathan Lane’s and Laurie Metcalf’s performances.

Plaza and Abbott first met while working on the 2020 psychological drama Black Bear before going on to star together Off Broadway in John Patrick Shanley’s play Danny and the Deep Blue Sea in 2023, which also starred Abbott’s crutches for much of the run after he shattered his knee mid-performance. The Parks and Recreation actress and Girls actor reportedly began dating in 2025. Plaza was previously married to filmmaker Jeff Baena, though the two separated in 2024 before his death in January 2025.

Plaza first announced the pregnancy in April on the Smartless podcast, of all places, telling hosts Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Sean Hayes, “There is a baby inside of me right now.” She went on to add about her impending motherhood, “I’ve always wanted to see what that’s all about, you know?”
