Brush Up on These Vintage Conan Clips Before the 2027 Met Gala

We have the theme for next year’s Met Gala. According to a press release, John Galliano: Horizons will grace the Costume Institute next May. Galliano will become the third designer to have a Met exhibition during their lifetime — Yves Saint Laurent and Commes des Garçons’ Rei Kawakubo being numbers 1 and 2. The Met is literally teaching the controversy, shining a light not just on Galliano’s design triumphs but his cancelation for antisemitism and his attempts to mount a comeback post-rehab. The show will eschew “a conventional narrative of disgrace and redemption” in favor of “how aesthetic achievement, ethical accountability and institutional recognition intersect.”

But what does Galliano have to hold himself accountable for?
