Every Single Thing Happening at the 2026 Tony Awards

by · VULTURE

It’s the biggest night of the year for a small but extremely vocal percentage of the population, as New York’s theater community celebrates the dead salesmen, cake carriers, and Jellicle cats that defined this Broadway season at the 2026 Tony Awards. The non-equity Lost Boy known as P!nk is hosting the ceremony at Radio City Music Hall, kicking things off with an opening number penned by Evan Hansen’s two dads, Pasek and Paul, and featuring approximately 170 performers. From there on out, we’ll recap everything that happens during the ceremony while rooting for Vulture’s favorites to win. Becky Shaw in four! —Rebecca Alter

I can’t believe Best Book is in the pre-show.

Cinco Paul for Schmigadoon! — It’s going to be Schmiga-night I think.

Pre show announcement: “Please help us make this a safe and exciting opening number by being in your seats by 7:55. There’s going to be a lot of stuff in the aisles.”

Have made it through the insane security line and inside.

So far I have seen Andrew Lloyd Webber taking a selfie with someone and Darren Criss bragging that he is out of Maybe Happy Ending so can now grow out his beard.

Three things I’m watching for at tonight’s Tonys

• How often will Pink swing from the ceiling and in which directions? We know she’s doing an elaborate opening number, but we don’t know just how much aerial gymnastics are involved.
• Will there be any big upsets? Everyone I’ve talked to this weekend is biting their nails over close races, including the revival race between Cats and Ragtime, which seems to tilt toward the latter, though there are a lot of very enthusiastic fans of (and investors in) the former.
• How celebratory will the mood be? Broadway’s facing some financial headwinds. Tonys are a place to put on a brave face, but will the anxiety creep in?
