Gerard Way Teases First New My Chemical Romance Album in 16 Years
by Bethy Squires · VULTURERumors Gerard Way is pregnant? Yeah, he’s pregnant with MCR5. At Saturday’s My Chemical Romance show in San Antonio, Way gestured towards the band recording its first album in 16 years. Since 2010’s Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, MCR has mostly been MIA, save for a single in 2022: “The Foundations of Decay.” Way said that song was about to have a lot more siblings. “We should probably make more songs. It was really awesome when we kept doing it,” he said according to Rolling Stone. “And then you know, stuff happens, life happens. But, just know that, we kind of always wanted to make another record, so we hope to. Because you guys, honestly, kept us alive for so long that you guys deserve another record.”
My Chemical Romance has been touring their 2006 album, The Black Parade, for its 20th anniversary. And anyone who knows their MCR history knows that September is kind of an important month for the band. It’s a time to reflect, and perhaps create anew. If they do make a new album, maybe it will inspire Stephenie Meyer to finish her long-gestating book about Renesmee and Jacob, spawning another erotic fanfiction franchise, which launches another nepo baby to take down a talk show host. It’s happened once before.
