The Daily Wire’s Pro-ICE Movie Got Shut Down for Being Disruptive

My petard, it’s hoisting me! Who could have foreseen such a consequence to my actions? The Daily Wire’s “thriller” allegedly inspired by the killing of Renee Good has been ordered to cease filming in Livingston, Montana. According to the Wrap, the city commission called a special meeting and suspended the movie’s filming permit, due to its “disruption to local businesses and its failure to communicate street closures, fire engine bookings and other processes to the community.” The commission is looking into ways to make the temporary suspension permanent.

“It is crystal clear that Livingston residents and businesses were not adequately informed in advance about the street closures and the disruptive nature of the filming activity that took place in the neighborhoods with the city-permitted filming,” one resident said during the meeting. They added that the town’s food bank faced “intimidation” from the shoot’s security staff, who were dressed in “paramilitary” gear. The production was scheduled to wrap October 10. According to a script obtained by The Bulwark, the film shows an ICE agent killing a “fat blue-hair” woman who had killed another agent with her car. The agent then flees into the titular pawn shop as a mob of protesters pursue him. The film has been met with local protests, but nothing so aggro that they’ve forced anyone to live out Die Hard fantasies in a pawn shop.
