Don’t Try to Sneak a Peek at The Summer I Turned Pretty Movie
by Alejandra Gularte · VULTUREIf you were thinking of trying to catch some spoilers for the upcoming The Summer I Turned Pretty movie, think again. Prime Video released a statement in the form of a message written in the sand, asking fans to stop showing up at the set. “We love the excitement, but sharing locations and visiting set disrupts filming and creates real safety concerns for our cast and crew. We’re working hard to create a protected bubble to make the best movie possible. Please help us protect the magic of Cousins until it’s ready to be shared,” the streamer wrote alongside a video of “Privacy please” written in the sand. Fans were mostly receptive to the request, but did ask for at least one behind-the-scenes pic of Belly and Conrad to hold them over until the movie’s out.
Creator Jenny Han also co-signed the request, explaining that they cannot make the best possible movie with all the distractions. “When people come to set, film, and share videos, it disrupts the work. It makes it harder for actors to get into character and causes unnecessary anxiety for them. We often have to stop production to clear crowds from the shot, which breaks the crew’s focus,” Han wrote on Instagram Stories. “This story means a lot to me, and I know it means a lot to you, too. I want to give you the best version of this movie. Please help protect our process.” If you want to know how Belly and Connie end up, just wait for the movie.
