If anybody is wondering exactly why Netflix would want to buy Warner Bros. — take a look at the Golden Globe nominations this morning. Netflix and Warner Bros.’s HBO Max were the top nomination grabbers in TV, with hot shows like The White Lotus and Adolescence scoring six and five nods, respectively. And in movies, they were two of the top-three studios, with Netflix’s Frankenstein and WB’s Sinners and One Battle After Another dominating the ceremony. The only studio that beat them was upstart Neon, which led its haul of foreign films like Sentimental Value, The Secret Agent, and It Was Just an Accident to a total of 21 nominations.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another was the most nominated movie overall with nine nominations. Sentimental Value and Sinners were close behind, with eight and seven nods, respectively. Sinners missed out on the Supporting Actress category, where Wunmi Mosaku was expected to get in — the slot instead went to Emily Blunt in the Dwayne Johnson vehicle The Smashing Machine.

Nominees were announced by Marlon Wayans and Skye P. Marshall at 8:15 a.m. ET on CBSNews.com. Next, Nikki Glaser returns to host the January 11 ceremony airing on both CBS and Paramount+. Below, all the movies, TV shows, limited series, and podcasts Glaser will roast.
