Get out your cup of tea, a saucer, and a scone (but make sure to pronounce it “scon”). The 2025 BAFTA nominations arrive while Hollywood’s awards season has been put almost entirely on pause due to the fires still affecting Los Angeles. Predictably, there were some very British nominations in store: Hugh Grant, not predicted by just about anyone to be nominated at the Oscars for Best Actor, scored a nomination for his work in Heretic, for example. But the most love went to the respectable choice, Conclave, with 12 nominations, though Emilia Pérez was not far behind with 11. As a bonus, Irish hip-hop film Kneecap scored six nominations.
