What’s Better Than Four Halloweentown Movies? A Fifth One!

Halloween is cool, even 20 years later, nature boy! The Wrap confirms that a fifth installment in the Disney Channel Original Movie franchise is on the way. Forbidden Fruits’s Lily Houghton and Gossip Girl’s Ryan Koehn are developing the script for the new film. There’s no word yet on who will be starring in the movie, including who will be playing Marnie, the lead witch, if she were to return. Kimberly J. Brown has said she’d love to reprise the role — Sara Paxton replaced Brown for Return to Halloween when her character went to college. But there’s no Halloweentown without Marnie, so maybe it’ll introduce the next generation to witchy antics, like Marnie’s daughter learning she comes from a line of witches.

All four Halloweentown films have become a staple for millennials and Gen Z during October. The Wrap reports that fans have streamed over 160 million hours of the franchise, making them some of the most-streamed movies on the platform during the holiday season. Why not add a fifth?
