Tyler Perry Accused of Sexual Assault in Second Lawsuit

A second actor has accused Tyler Perry of sexual assault. In a new lawsuit obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, Mario Rodriguez claims Perry subjected him to unwanted sexual advances over several years, including an incident in 2018 when he “tightly hugged” him and “grabbed his penis.” This comes after actor Derek Dixon sued Perry for $260 million, claiming sexual assault and harassment.

According to Rodriguez’s lawsuit, Perry approached him through a trainer at Equinox, asking him to audition for a role in Boo! A Madea Halloween. “You know Mario, I’m not a bad person to know and have in your corner,” Perry allegedly said.

After accepting the part, Rodriguez says Perry invited him to his LA home. They had drinks and watched a movie, during which Perry allegedly “put his hands on Mr. Rodiguez’s legs and began rubbing his inner thigh right next to his penis.”

Another incident took place in 2018, per the complaint, after a dinner at Mastro’s Steakhouse. On the way back to Perry’s home, the director allegedly “reached into Mr. Rodriguez’s underwear and grabbed his penis.” After Rodriguez got away, Perry reportedly apologized and gave the actor $5000.

Alex Spiro, a lawyer for Perry, denied the allegations. “Having recently failed in another matter against Mr. Perry, the very same lawyer has now made yet another demand from more than a decade ago which will also be a failed money grab,” Spiro said in a statement. Rodriguez is represented by Jonathan Delshad, who also represents Dixon. Dixon’s, originally filed to California state court, has been moved to federal court in Georgia.
