RTE Late Late Toy Show hero Adam King set to release his first book in aid of charity

RTÉ Late Late Toy Show star Adam King is set to launch his first ever book, with all proceeds from the sales going to charity.

The 10-year-old Cork native already captured the hearts of the nation with his virtual hug after he appeared on the RTÉ programme with Ryan Tubridy in 2020.

Now, he is set to raise vital funds for a Waterford-based charity after penning a children's book about a cheeky Viking elf named Farron and his adventures at Waterford City’s annual Winterval Festival.

Titled 'Farron's Adventure', the story follows the titular hero as he trapezes through Ireland's oldest city during Winterval in a bid to save Christmas. The book is a tale of an epic adventure featuring a friendly elf who is filled with sheer determination and joyous optimism as the ‘saving’ of Christmas sits firmly on his shoulders.

Farron’s Adventure will be officially launched by Adam on November 9 at The Book Centre in Waterford and members of the public, especially children, are invited along to enjoy the occasion.

Funds raised through the sale of Farron’s Adventure will go towards the charity, Junior for Juniors, whose mission is to bring comfort and solace to young patients in the paediatric wards of University Hospital Waterford.

Speaking about his first book, Adam said:“I am so proud of this book. I can’t believe that I’m an author like my Dad! I love reading, and books are a big part of my life. I will really enjoy reading this book to my little sister Sarah and my younger cousins.”
