Gladiator II star Paul Mescal to host Saturday Night Live next month

Hot on the heels of the Kildare actor’s appearance on The Late Late Show he will take over the iconic comedy sketch series on December 7.
The Hollywood star follows in the footsteps of fellow Irish actors Gabriel Byrne, Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, and Saoirse Ronan by hosting the hit show. It is tradition on Saturday Night Live for the guest host to take part in sketches on the show but details have not been announced yet.

The 28-year-old is currently promoting Gladiator II and he will be joined by musical guest Shaboozey – two weeks after the blockbuster sequel hits cinemas in the US.
Saturday Night Live is celebrating its 50th anniversary with the likes of pop singers Ariana Grande and Charli XCX appearing as hosts this season.
