The Raja Saab Worldwide Box Office Collection Day 2 Update: Fans unhappy with Prabhas’ ‘lazy’ acting; film drops 48.22% on first Saturday

The Raja Saab Box Office Collection Worldwide Day 2 Live Updates: Directed by Maruthi Dasari, the Prabhas-starrer saw a crash on the second day, earning Rs 27.83 crore. The film is expected to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in India today.

The Raja Saab Box Office Collection Day 2 Update: Maruthi Dasari’s directorial The Raja Saab began its theatrical run on January 9. The Prabhas-led horror-comedy opened strongly, minting Rs 63.3 crore net on Day 1, including Rs 9.15 crore from special shows held across Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Kerala on Thursday. However the film is under the gun, and many are arguing that it doesn’t live up to the hype. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the movie earned Rs 27.83 crore on day 2 of its theatrical journey.

While the opening day numbers were impressive, they were nothing compared to what Prabhas has witnessed in the past. Apart from S S Rajamouli’s Baahubali Part 1, which made just over Rs 5 crore on its first day, he has had massive opening days in the past. Baahubali: The Conclusion earned Rs 121 crore on its opening day, while Saaho earned Rs 89 crore. The Prashanth Neel directorial, Salaar earned Rs 90 crore on its opening day.

The Raja Saab had over 6500 shows all across the country on opening day, with Telugu having the most – 3247 shows. There are 3043 shows in Hindi, and 380 shows in Tamil.

With Vijay’s highly anticipated film Jaya Nayagan is still awaiting a new release date, the release of Parasakthi might hamper The Raja Saab collections. The release of Chiranjeevi film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu might dent those collections even further.

Prabhas and his fans will be hoping that the actor makes a comeback with this film, as he is slightly jumping out of his comfort zone. The action star spoke about the same during an interview with Sandeep Reddy Vanga and said, “I get bored doing just one genre. So I did Darling 15 years ago, and everyone thought it wouldn’t work. But it did work, and now I want to show the Indian audience that I can try this also.”
