Drishyam 3 Movie Review, Rating and Release Live Updates: Ajay Devgn is returning as Vijay Salgaonkar with Drishyam: The Conclusion, the third and final chapter of the Hindi Drishyam franchise, which is set to arrive in cinemas on October 2. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film brings back Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Rajat Kapoor and Kamlesh Sawant, while Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj join the cast.

The new film picks up the story of Vijay and his family after the events of Drishyam 2. The franchise has revolved around Vijay’s efforts to protect his family after an accidental killing and his elaborate attempts to stay ahead of the investigation. The third film introduces another threat to the secret the Salgaonkars have managed to protect, putting Vijay’s carefully constructed plans under renewed pressure.

What makes Drishyam: The Conclusion particularly significant is that the Hindi franchise is now moving on a different narrative path from the Malayalam series starring Mohanlal. While the first two Hindi films were remakes of the Malayalam Drishyam films, the new Hindi instalment has its own story.

At the trailer launch, Ajay Devgn said the Hindi film has a “completely different script” and is not a version with minor changes. He explained that while the first two Hindi films were inspired by the Malayalam originals, the third instalment takes an entirely different route.

He also revealed that he wanted Mohanlal and filmmaker Jeethu Joseph to watch the film and give their approval.

Drishyam: The Conclusion advance booking

According to Sacnilk, Drishyam: The Conclusion has generated nearly Rs 38 crore in advance bookings for the extended opening weekend, including blocked seats, while the figure excluding blocked seats stands at Rs 28.49 crore. For Day 1, advance bookings have crossed Rs 19 crore, with Delhi-NCR among the strongest markets. The film has also recorded more than 11 lakh tickets sold across around 36,000 shows.

The film benefits from a national holiday and a solo release, with no major Bollywood film releasing alongside it on October 2. Trade expectations have placed its opening-day potential in the Rs 40 crore-plus range, although the final collection will depend on actual footfalls after release.

Drishyam 3 is 'powerful, gripping, and thoroughly fulfilling'

Veteran trade analyst Taran Adarsh said via X, "Lives up to the mammoth expectations... This is, without doubt, the BEST FILM in the #drishyam franchise and also among the BEST FILMS of 2026... SURE-SHOT BLOCKBUSTER. #drishyamtheconclusionreview Director #abhishekpathak, who helmed the second part as well, proves yet again why he is among the finest storytellers today... He understands the DNA of the franchise and takes the story forward without recycling its formula... In fact, the direction and writing emerge as the two strongest pillars of the film. The biggest high point is the #ajaydevgn - #jaideepahlawat face-off in the first half... Simply MARVELLOUS… Deserves a standing ovation! The courtroom sequences are another major highlight... In fact, the very first sequence featuring #prakashraj with #ajaydevgn and his family is yet another brilliant moment. Now, to the all-important climax – Does it deliver?... Does it culminate convincingly?... Does it leave you satisfied?... YES, YES, YES... The finale is powerful, gripping, and thoroughly fulfilling."

He added, "#ajaydevgn returns as the iconic #vijaysalgaonkar – the soul of the franchise... The lifeline of #drishyamtheconclusion... He navigates this demanding role with remarkable brilliance... His pre-interval sequence with #jaideepahlawat, in particular, will certainly drive audiences back for repeat viewings. #jaideepahlawat is a terrific addition to the #drishyam universe... His performance is controlled yet commanding, and undoubtedly one of the film's biggest strengths. #tabu is fabulous... Anger, hurt, revenge, determination – the varied emotions she portrays prove yet again why she was the best choice for this part. #prakashraj is simply remarkable... His authority and unmistakable screen presence add considerable weight to the proceedings. #shriyasaran is in super form, while #rajatkapoor brings dignity and conviction to his part... #kamleshsawant is top notch, adding further weight to the proceedings. #ishitadutta and #mrunaljadhav are alright in their respective parts. There's no scope for music in the narrative, but the background score is electrifying and significantly enhances the tension and drama. Final word? #drishyamtheconclusion is sure to rule hearts as well as the boxoffice... A finale that delivers on every front."

Talking about Drishyam 3 at FICCI Frames 2026, Ajay Devgn said, "We are keeping fingers crossed. You’ll have to wait and watch to find out if Vijay Salgaonkar can beat them or they beat Vijay Salgaonkar. The series also concludes with this film because it is very difficult to write a film like Drishyam. We want to end it on a high. We all felt that the way the script has shaped up and the film has shaped up, I think we should put a stop right now. I saw the film yesterday. My personal opinion is that it beats Drishyam 2 (2022). So, fingers crossed!"
