by Gabs · MyNewsGh.comActor Peter Greene, best known for his roles in Pulp Fiction and The Mask, has died at the age of 60.
Greene was found dead in his New York City apartment on Friday, December 12, according to his longtime manager, Gregg Edward, who confirmed that the actor’s family has been notified.
A wellness check was conducted after neighbours reported music playing inside the apartment for more than 24 hours.
In a statement, Edward described Greene as “a unique individual” and “one of the most brilliant character actors,” adding that he had “a really good heart” and cared deeply about people.
Speaking separately to NBC News, Edward said, “Nobody played a bad guy better than Peter,” noting that he also had a gentle side “and a heart as big as gold.”
No cause of death has been disclosed. Greene is survived by two siblings.
Greene gained wide recognition for portraying Zed in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction and Dorian in The Mask, both released in 1994.
His career spanned decades across film and television, with earlier work including the 1993 drama Clean, Shaven, which led to Tarantino casting him in Pulp Fiction.
In a 2022 interview on The Up & Adam Show podcast, Greene described Clean, Shaven as his most meaningful role and spoke about his minimalist, improvisational approach to acting, encouraging performers to stay present and let the camera capture genuine emotion.
