This year’s edition, themed ‘Made by Africa, loved by the world: Where stories spark community’, shines a spotlight on African cinema.

It also highlights filmmakers and actors from Nigeria and South Africa whose works are gaining global recognition.

The 2026 campaign features a five-part vodcast series profiling five acclaimed actors and filmmakers, hosted by Nigerian podcast ‘I Said What I Said’ and South African podcast platform ‘Because We Said So’.

In a statement announcing the campaign, Kezia Anim-Addo, communications director for Africa, Middle East and Turkey at Meta, said the initiative continues to celebrate African talents making a global impact.

“For six years, Made by Africa has spotlighted talent from across the continent, making a mark globally. This year, film takes centre stage,” she said.

“From Nollywood to South African cinema, African stories are reaching audiences worldwide, and Facebook is at the heart of how people come together around cultural moments like these. This campaign backs the filmmakers driving that momentum.”

According to Meta, each vodcast episode will explore the featured creatives’ journeys, global impact and how they use Facebook to connect with audiences and build communities.

Speaking on the collaboration, FK Abudu and Jola Ayeye, hosts of the ‘I Said What I Said’ podcast, said the partnership provides an opportunity to spotlight African creatives with global influence.

“We’re excited about this partnership and the chance to collaborate with Facebook in celebrating Africa Day with other brilliant African creatives,” they said.
