‘Smear campaign’ — Mohbad’s wife denies welcoming child with another man

Omowunmi, the widow of Mohbad, has dismissed claims that she welcomed a second child with another man.

The rumours, which surfaced on X, alleged that Omowunmi recently gave birth to a baby girl.

The claims sparked mixed reactions online, with some users expressing support for her to move on, while others criticised her for allegedly doing so before her husband was laid to rest.

“Life no get duplicate, and mourning get expiring date. Mohbad wife don born pikin again. If you like go die for loyalty of love. The world go cry for one week, drink beer the next week, and replace you the third week. Borrow yourself brain,” a user wrote.

Reacting to the claim via her Snapchat account, Omowunmi dismissed the report as a “smear campaign” aimed at tarnishing her reputation.

“You guys are funny on Twitter. Mohbad’s wife gave birth? This smear campaign is funny asf,” she wrote.

She also shared a photo of herself with her son, Liam, via her Instagram story, describing him as her “my one and only”.

Wunmi has been in the public eyes since the controversial death of Mohbad, her husband, on September 12, 2023.

The singer passed away after receiving an injection from an auxiliary nurse, leading to a public outcry that prompted the police to exhume his body for an autopsy.

However, the investigation suffered a major setback in May 2024 when pathologists reported that the cause of death could not be determined due to the body’s decomposition.

However, recently Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s father, alleged that the singer called off plans for a formal wedding to Wunmi after discovering “she drugged his food and cheated on him”.
