The Afrobeat artiste proposed to Inedoye in 2022. The couple later tied the knot in 2023.

In an interview with the Timeless podcast, the 30-year-old singer revealed that he chose not to kneel when proposing because he viewed their union as a mutual agreement, not a plea.

He added that Inedoye, whose strong values convinced him she was the one, had a feeling a proposal might come, but wasn’t entirely sure.

“And I did not go down on one knee. Because I told her that this is a mutual decision. We are not begging each other to be with each other,” he said.

“She had a sense, but she was not sure (it was coming).”

Made recalled how he saved up money from performances, booked a week-long trip for both of them to Paris, and arranged a three-course dinner.

He also revealed that he proposed without a ring, deciding they would shop for one together afterwards.

“I made some money from some shows. I did some stuff, booked a flight for both of us to Paris. Then, we spent a week there. Then I booked a table for a three-course meal,” he continued.

“It almost did not happen that day because the starters that they brought were disgusting. Both of us were complaining. So I said I could not propose under those conditions. So, when the main came, it was very nice.

“I just said there was so much chaos in the world and not so many people in the world can find someone they find peace with, at the same time, be living. As I was talking, a tear fell from my eyes, and I asked whether she would be my wife.

“I decided that we would shop for the ring after the proposal.”
