Zubby Michael joins ADC, declares interest in reps seat

Taking to his X page, Zubby announced his political ambitions alongside a video showing him formally joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In the footage, Zubby is seen receiving the ADC’s membership form. In his characteristic no-fuss style, the film star made it clear he’s done with online commentary and ready for real action.
“I dey my village, enough of the talking online, I don involve. House of Reps, Zubby Michael is coming. ADC is the party,” he wrote.

It is understood that the actor’s interest is to represent Nnewi north, Nnewi south, and Ekwusigo federal constituency of Anambra state in the next reps election.
This is not Zubby’s first foray into politics. In 2019, he was appointed as a special adviser on media to Willie Obiano, the then governor of Anambra state.
Born Azubuike Michael Egwu, the actor discovered his passion for storytelling early. He made his screen debut in the movie ‘Missing Rib’ and has since become a household name in Nollywood, featuring in over 100 films.

Some of his notable works include ‘Owambe Thieves’, ‘Three Widows’, ‘The Bride Price’, ‘Onyeegwu’, ‘Brotherhood’, ‘My Village People’, ‘Bloody Doings’, ‘Passport’, ‘Omo Ghetto: The Saga’ and ‘The Wildflower’.
He has also earned a plethora of nominations and awards for his craft.
