Yul Edochie, the Nollywood star, has advised men not to hold grudges against their wives, regardless of what their partners may have done.

In a recent post on X, the actor stated that even when a wife is at fault, a man should avoid malice and instead resolve the issues. He also emphasised the importance of communication in marriages.

“Men, don’t keep malice with your wife. You’re the head of your home,” he wrote.

“No matter what your wife does to you, have a one-on-one conversation with her about it, tell her your mind and iron things out. It might be her fault, or she could be reacting to something you did to her.

“You can only find out when you communicate. Weak men avoid difficult conversations. Real men discuss issues no matter how tough they are.

“Communication is highly essential in marriage.”

The actor has become known for his bold takes on relationships. He recently urged men to end relationships with partners who do not respect them.

In August 2024, the film star advised unmarried women to propose to their partners if they felt the relationship was stalling, suggesting it could help them settle down faster.

Edochie has remained a polarising public figure since April 2022, when he introduced Judy Austin as his second wife and announced they had a child together.

The revelation drew widespread criticism, particularly from his first wife May Edochie. In August 2023, May filed for divorce and demanded N100 million in damages.

Edochie’s admonishment comes on the back of the highly publicised rift between TV host Frank Edoho and his estranged wife Sandra Edoho.

The media personality, while revealing the cause of their split in December 2022, described himself as the “king of malice”. He explained that silence was his preferred reaction during conflicts in relationships.

“The best punishment I can give a woman is malice. I can stay in the same house with you, but I’ll not talk to you if you cross the line. My wife knows now. I am the king of malice. I will not talk to you,” he said.
