DJ Tunez announces new collaboration with Wizkid

DJ Tunez, the Nigerian disc jockey and producer born Michael Adeyinka, has announced an upcoming project with global superstar Wizkid titled ‘State of Mind’.

In a post shared via X on Thursday, DJ Tunez revealed the collaboration and release date: “STATE OF MIND – MAY 15TH.”

DJ Tunez first gained widespread popularity in 2016 after releasing ‘Iskaba,’ a collaboration with Wande Coal that was later named one of Nigeria’s best songs of 2017.

He has since worked with numerous Nigerian artistes, including Reekado Banks, Omah Lay, and Adekunle Gold.

In 2015, DJ Tunez signed to Wizkid’s record label Starboy Entertainment.

As Wizkid’s official disc jockey, DJ Tunez has collaborated with him on several tracks, including ‘Gbese,’ ‘Cool Me Down,’ and ‘Caution’.

In 2019, he released ‘Turn Up’ featuring Wizkid and Reekado Banks, with additional vocals from Rema.

Other notable collaborations include ‘Pami’ (2020) featuring Wizkid, Adekunle Gold, and Omah Lay, as well as ‘One Condition’ (2025) featuring Wizkid and Fola.

Born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, Wizkid first rose to global prominence with ‘Superstar’, his debut album in 2011.

The singer has received numerous awards, including a Grammy Award in 2021 for his collaboration with Beyoncé on the hit song ‘Brown Skin Girl’.
