Adesua Etomi: I prayed not to marry a musician, pastor, or politician but God gave me all three

Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi has revealed that everything she once prayed against in a man is exactly what she ended up with.

In a recent interview on The Teju Babyface Show, Adesua said before she met her husband, singer Banky W, she had a clear list of what she did not want in a partner and she told God very seriously about it.

“Before I met my husband, I had a few requirements that I told God very strongly that I did not want,” she said.

She explained that she was very specific: she did not want to marry a musician, a politician, or a pastor.

“And God gave me all three,” she added.

Banky W tied the knot with Adesua Etomi in South Africa in November 2017.

In 2021, they welcomed their first child Hazaiah. Hezekiah, their second child, was born in 2024.

Banky W, who earned a master’s degree in policy management from Georgetown University in the United States in 2025, had previously announced his decision to relocate his family to the United States. He cited family, faith, and finding purpose as his motivations.

The move required him to give up being a CEO at a company and return to being a full-time student, a significant shift for the entertainment mogul.
