DOWNLOAD: DJ Tunez, Wizkid team up for ‘State of Mind’

DJ Tunez, the Nigerian disc jockey and producer, has put out his highly anticipated single ‘State of Mind’ featuring award-winning singer Wizkid.

Tunez released the single across various streaming platforms in the early hours of Friday.

In ‘State of Mind’, Wizkid delivers his usual melodic and smooth Afrofusion lines with sensual rhythm to a set of electric instrumentals.

“I am on a different state of mind/ E no get time I no dey guide/ Come fix me up/ I’ll fix your life/ And the future looking hella bright/ Oya make we just dey kenkele/ Give me body make we jengede/ Girl your body don dey shenkere,” they sing.

DJ Tunez first gained widespread popularity in 2016 after releasing ‘Iskaba,’ a collaboration with Wande Coal that was later named one of Nigeria’s best songs of 2017.

He has since worked with numerous Nigerian artistes, including Reekado Banks, Omah Lay, and Adekunle Gold.

In 2015, DJ Tunez signed to Wizkid’s record label Starboy Entertainment.

As Wizkid’s official disc jockey, DJ Tunez has collaborated with him on several tracks, including ‘Gbese,’ ‘Cool Me Down,’ and ‘Caution’.

In 2019, he released ‘Turn Up’ featuring Wizkid and Reekado Banks, with additional vocals from Rema.

Other notable collaborations include ‘Pami’ (2020) featuring Wizkid, Adekunle Gold, and Omah Lay, as well as ‘One Condition’ (2025) featuring Wizkid and Fola.

Born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, Wizkid first rose to global prominence with ‘Superstar’, his debut album in 2011. The Grammy winner is referred to as one of “Afrobeats Big 3”.
