The track, which marks their first collaboration together, was released across streaming platforms on Thursday.

‘Formation’, delivered mostly in Yoruba, offers a high-energy, celebratory sound that blends Fuji-inspired Afrobeats with street-influenced rap.

The track sees Gold and Olamide combining smooth melodic vocals with gritty street flows, creating a vibrant expression of confidence, wealth, and feel-good energy.

Gold rose to fame in 2015 with ‘Sade’, a highlife cover of Story of My Life. He was signed to YBNL Nation that same year and went on to release his debut album ‘Gold’ before exiting the label after his contract expired.

In December 2024, the singer revealed he got signed after producer Pheelz heard ‘Sade’ and shared it with Olamide.

Olamide, on the other hand, is widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s biggest rappers and has earned numerous awards and nominations.

He founded his label, ‘Yahoo Boy No Laptop’ (YBNL), in 2012, saying it was a move to avoid extravagant spending.
