Psy, Felix, and Jun Ji Hyun lead K-pop cultural diplomacy at Korea–France 140th anniversary state luncheon

South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and First Lady Kim Hye Kyung hosted French President Emmanuel Macron and his spouse, alongside a distinguished guest list that included global K-pop icon Psy, Stray Kids member Felix, and acclaimed actress Jun Ji Hyun.
Psy, widely recognized as a pioneer of the global K-pop phenomenon, was invited as a key cultural figure. Felix and Jun Ji-hyun attended in their roles as honorary ambassadors, adding prestige and star power to the event.
The atmosphere at the luncheon was warm and lively. Footage released through official channels, including Lee Jae Myung TV, showed Felix confidently facilitating conversations between the two presidents, demonstrating his fluency in global communication and contributing to the friendly ambiance.
A commemorative group photo followed, featuring Felix, fellow Stray Kids members, Jun Ji Hyun, and both presidential couples. In the same footage, Psy was seen enthusiastically applauding during the luncheon speech, reflecting the celebratory mood of the occasion.
President Macron later shared a selfie on his social media account with Psy, Felix, Jun Ji Hyun, actress Jeon Jong Seo, and actor Noh Sang Hyun. All appeared smiling brightly, capturing the joyful energy of the event.
The luncheon was organized to commemorate 140 years of diplomatic ties between the two nations. During their summit, President Lee and President Macron agreed to elevate bilateral relations to a “global strategic partnership.”
The two leaders also set an ambitious goal of reaching one million people in bilateral exchanges. They pledged to expand cooperation in cultural technology and e-sports, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening trust built through the global success of K-pop and Korean content.
