Davichi’s Kang Min Kyung responds to ‘staged vlog’ claims, clarifies she filmed alone

Kang Min Kyung has personally addressed allegations that her recent travel vlog was staged.

On May 6, the Davichi member shared a lengthy statement on social media, writing, “It’s already been nine years since I started filming my vlogs on my own.”

The controversy arose after a recently uploaded travel vlog appeared to include shots that looked as if they were filmed by someone else, leading some viewers to question whether she had been accompanied by staff despite presenting the trip as a solo journey.

Responding to the speculation, Kang Min Kyung said, “I thought people might recognize it by now since I’ve been doing this consistently for nearly 10 years, but I guess I still have a long way to go.”

She explained that the scene in question was filmed using a small tripod placed briefly outside a restaurant. “I wanted viewers to feel the same emotions I was experiencing, which is why I set up the shot that way,” she said, adding that the angle was also possible due to the relatively low risk of pickpocketing in Shanghai compared to Europe.

Kang Min Kyung emphasized, “I’m explaining this in detail because some people are questioning whether I brought staff along while calling it a solo trip. If it hadn’t been a solo trip, I wouldn’t have gone out of my way to describe it that way.”

Meanwhile, Kang Min Kyung continues to connect with fans through lifestyle and travel content on her YouTube channel alongside her activities as a member of Davichi.
