Kim Nam Gil joins Yonsei University festival as a guest performer amid expanding music career
by Demian09 · allkpopActor and singer Kim Nam Gil is set to attend a major Yonsei University festival this month, according to his agency.
On May 7, GILSTORY ENT confirmed to Dispatch that Kim Nam Gil will participate in the event titled “2026 Yonsei, I Love You”, which will be held on May 17 at the outdoor theater of Yonsei University in Seoul.
The festival is organized by the Yonsei Alumni Association, the Yonsei Sports Association, and the university cheerleading squad. It has been held annually since its first edition in 2024, primarily as an alumni-focused celebration.
Kim Nam Gil has been invited to this year’s event in recognition of his recent activities as a rising music artist. He recently launched his debut single, “I Am Coming to You,” and has been actively expanding his music career.
He has been showcasing his new music across various platforms, including fan meetings in Seoul and appearances on major Korean television programs such as You Quiz on the Block and The Seasons: Sung Si-kyung’s Sweet Boyfriend.
Hints about his participation in university festivals had already surfaced last month. On April 29, Kim mentioned during an appearance on SBS PowerFM’s Hwang Je-sung’s King Power that he would be attending a college festival, saying he was grateful for the invitation.
However, he also noted that the university requested a more restrained format for his appearance. He explained that there would be limited time and other scheduled performances, meaning the event should not be treated like a full fan meeting.
Meanwhile, Kim Nam Gil continues to expand his acting career. His upcoming film “Canvas of Blood” is set for release soon, and he has also confirmed his role in the new SBS TV drama “Nightmare.”
