B1A4 establishes independent label B1A4 Company ahead of 15th anniversary
by Demian09 · allkpopB1A4 has taken a new step in its career by launching its own label.
On December 24, B1A4 members CNU, Sandeul, and Gongchan announced the establishment of B1A4 Company, where they will serve as both in-house directors and artists as they continue their future activities. The company was founded to plan, develop, and produce intellectual property (IP), albums, and various forms of content centered around the group.
While B1A4 Company will oversee the overall producing, planning, and creative direction of B1A4’s activities, management duties will be handled by Hieut-Pieut, which has signed exclusive contracts with the three members.
The members had different contract end dates with their former agency WM Entertainment, but all recently shared news of their contract expirations. Gongchan’s exclusive contract ended in August last year, after which he successfully completed a solo fan meeting Asia tour across Korea, Japan, and China without an agency. He is set to wrap up the tour with a solo fan meeting in Taiwan on January 10. CNU’s contract concludes on December 31, while Sandeul’s runs through February 28 next year.
Hieut-Pieut stated, “Even though there was still time left on some contracts, WM Entertainment CEO Kim Jin Woo provided significant support so preparations for future activities could align with April 23, the group’s 15th debut anniversary. He encouraged and advised the members so they could proceed with establishing the corporation and preparing for what’s next even before the contracts officially ended.”
B1A4 also shared their thoughts through a statement, saying, “The three of us established B1A4 Company with the desire to continue staying close to our fans and promoting steadily. As this is a new challenge, we feel both excited and nervous, but we plan to overcome it together by relying on one another. We hope BANA will continue to walk alongside us in the future. Through various activities, we will do our best to give back to our fans. Please watch over us and support us. Let’s fly, B1A4!”
Hieut-Pieut is a comprehensive content production company that holds IPs across mini-series, short-form dramas, and web variety shows. With the addition of B1A4, the company has expanded into artist management and plans to further support the members’ individual acting careers as well.
B1A4 debuted in 2011 as a five-member group and released hit songs such as "What’s Going On" and 'A Lie.' At the height of their popularity, they earned the nickname “elementary school president” for their strong fanbase among younger audiences. After members Jinyoung and Baro departed, the group continued as a trio. With their 15th debut anniversary approaching next year, B1A4 is currently planning exhibitions, concerts, and other commemorative events.
