Comedian Kim Jun Hyun parts ways with SM C&C after 5 years amid fan ignoring controversy

Kim Jun Hyun joined SM C&C in 2021 after leaving JDB Entertainment. He renewed his contract in March 2024, continuing his collaboration with the agency. During his time with SM C&C, he gained recognition as the talk room MC on KBS 2TV’s variety show 'Immortal Songs: Singing the Legend,' where his witty commentary earned him the “Best Entertainer” award at the '2023 KBS Entertainment Awards.'
With his departure from SM C&C, attention is turning to his future career plans. Now a free agent, Kim Jun Hyun is reportedly planning to pursue independent activities without signing with another agency in the immediate future.
Debuting in 2007 as part of KBS’s 22nd class of comedians, Kim Jun Hyun rose to fame through the popular KBS 2TV comedy program 'Gag Concert,' where he created numerous catchphrases beloved by the public. Since then, he has established himself as a versatile host across music competitions, food shows, and travel programs.
Currently, he is active as an MC on 'Immortal Songs: Singing the Legend,' MBC Every1’s 'Welcome, First Time in Korea?,' and Comedy TV’s 'Delicious Guys.' Recently, he faced a controversy over allegedly ignoring fans. A video circulating online showed him passing by fans without responding to greetings, sparking debate over his attitude.
SM C&C is a major talent agency representing stars such as Kang Ho Dong, Jun Hyun Moo, Seo Jang Hoon, Jang Sung Kyu, and Jang Do Yeon.
