NOWZ ignites Japanese debut with bold ‘AMMO’ concept
by Minsoo-Kim · allkpop‘High end performers’ NOWZ are set to return with music as powerful as ammunition.
NOWZ (Hyunbin, Yun, Yeonwoo, Jinhyuk, and Siyun) unveiled concept photos for their new track ‘AMMO (feat. YRD Leo)’ from their first Japanese EP ‘NOWZ’ through their official social media at midnight on the 24th, officially kicking off the countdown to their Japanese debut.
The newly released images highlight a bold transformation fitting for a song titled ‘AMMO.’ Against the backdrop of a dark industrial factory, the members command attention with detailed suede jackets and bold accessories, exuding a new level of charisma. The concept marks a dramatic 180 degree shift from their sweet love song ‘HOOKED,’ released on February 6th KST, raising anticipation for their next chapter.
‘AMMO (feat. YRD Leo)’ conveys a message of moving forward by turning both criticism and support into fuel, rather than being shaken or rebelling against the world’s gaze and voices. Rising Japanese rapper YRD Leo, widely supported by Japan’s Gen Z audience, participated as a featured artist, completing a powerful synergy with NOWZ.
The Japanese EP ‘NOWZ’, which shares the group’s name, will include not only ‘AMMO (feat. YRD Leo)’ but also Japanese versions of their previously released tracks ‘HomeRUN,’ ‘GET BUCK,’ ‘In a World Without a Name,’ and ‘Fly Freely (Feat. YUQI).’
Recently expanding their musical influence with a “Blooming Star Award” win at the Hanteo Music Awards 2025, NOWZ will meet local fans through mini live performances and special fan events across Tokyo following the EP’s release on March 4th. They will also hold their first fan concert, ‘Run with me, NOW,’ on March 28th at Myunghwa Live Hall in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, continuing their rapid rise both domestically and internationally as one of the leading rookies of the 5th generation.
