Kangnam signs exclusive contract with CP Entertainment, begins new chapter

Kangnam has signed an exclusive contract with CP Entertainment, marking a new step in his career.

On April 6, a representative from CP Entertainment stated, “Kangnam is a rare talent who possesses both irreplaceable variety skills and depth as an artist. We will provide full support in various areas so he can further expand his unique presence.”

Kangnam debuted in 2008 as the main vocalist of Japanese rock band KCB, and began his activities in Korea in 2011 with a solo single. He later gained popularity as a member of M.I.B until 2016, and rose to fame as a variety personality with his candid humor and unfiltered charm.

He currently connects with fans through his YouTube channel which has over 1.44 million subscribers. The channel features a wide range of content, including everyday life with former national speed skating champion Lee Sang Hwa, as well as cover songs showcasing his strong vocals.

Kangnam shared, “I feel both excited and nervous to be joining CP Entertainment. I am looking forward to working alongside top entertainers in the variety field, and I hope you will look forward to the new sides of me and the challenges ahead.”

CP Entertainment, founded in 2023, is a content production and management company. The agency is home to major entertainers such as Shin Dong Yup, Lee Soo Ji, Ji Ye Eun, and Kim Kyu Won, and has produced hit series including ‘SNL Korea’ and ‘Office Workers’ for Coupang Play.
