Jessie pleads for end to malicious comments: "Please stop"

by · allkpop

Jessie has expressed her distress over hateful comments she has been receiving. On October 23rd, Jessie took to her social media to post "Please stop" and shared one of the malicious comments aimed at her.

One online user left a deeply disturbing message, saying, "The best news would be hearing you took medicine and died, so I'll be waiting for that."

This comes in the wake of an incident that occurred on September 29th in Apgujeong, Seoul, where a fan approached Jessie for a photo, but was assaulted by a man, identified as "A," who was in Jessie's group. Although Jessie tried to stop the assault, she left the scene shortly after. The victim later reported the incident to the police.

When authorities tracked down Jessie's group and inquired about "A," they reportedly claimed not to know him. On October 11th, the producer who was present during the assault was called in for questioning as a suspect.

On October 12th, Jessie took to her social media to clarify the situation, saying, "I was so shocked by the sudden incident that I couldn’t properly consider the fan’s feelings at the time. I am working to ensure the assailant receives appropriate punishment."

While Jessie was not the direct perpetrator, the victim filed complaints against Jessie, the producer, and two other individuals present at the scene. Jessie appeared at the Gangnam Police Station on October 16th as part of the investigation.

Adding to the controversy, on October 14th, JTBC's 'Case Chief' raised suspicions that the producer involved in the incident, who goes by the stage name Koala, might be linked to a Korean-American gang. Koala, who is also a rapper, has collaborated on multiple tracks for Jessie, including 'What Type of X', 'Cold Blooded', and 'Nunu Nana'.

When 'Case Chief' tried to contact Koala to confirm the gang-related rumors, they were unable to reach him. Jessie's agency responded to the program, stating, "Koala worked on music with Jessie a few times, but she has no ties to any gang, and we have no knowledge of Koala being involved in one." Additionally, video footage of the incident was released, leading to further accusations against Jessie for allegedly harboring and aiding the suspect.
