On December 27, the 9th Asia Artist Awards (AAA 2024) were held at the Impact Challenger Hall 1-2 in Bangkok, Thailand. The star-studded event was hosted by Ryu Jun Yeol, IVE’s Jang Won Young, and ZEROBASEONE’s Sung Han Bin.

Artists in attendance included NewJeans, LE SSERAFIM, BIBI, SUHO, ZEROBASEONE, Tony Yu, KISS OF LIFE, WHIB, BUS (Because Of You I Shine), DAY6, NCT 127, NCT WISH, QWER, TWS, WayV, and &TEAM. Actors including Kim Min, Kim Soo Hyun, Kim Hye Yoon, Park Min Young, Byun Woo Seok, Ahn Bo Hyun, Jang Da Ah, Jo Yu Ri, Joo Won, Choi Bo Min, and Kentaro Sakaguchi attended the event.

Among the highlights of the evening, Jang Da Ah received the Rookie Award for her performance in the TVING original series 'Pyramid Game.' Her younger sister, Jang Won Young, served as one of the event’s MCs and had the honor of presenting the award. Their interaction was brief but entertaining—Won Young handed over the trophy and immediately walked off the stage without giving the audience or photographers a chance to capture them together, drawing laughter from the crowd.

Accepting her award, Jang Da Ah expressed her gratitude and shared, "I’m delighted to stand here before such respected seniors and viewers. I want to thank my beloved and admired parents for raising me, as well as everyone who supported 'Pyramid Game.' Special thanks to Director Park So Yeon, Writer Choi Soo Yi, and the production team for giving me this opportunity. I’m also incredibly grateful to the staff who always work so hard alongside me. I know this award is just the beginning for me, and I’ll strive to grow into someone more self-aware and mature. Wishing everyone a healthy and happy year-end.”

After her speech, host Ryu Jun Yeol asked Jang Won Young how she felt about presenting such a meaningful award to her older sister. Won Young replied, “I’m so happy to give this significant award to my sister personally. I think our parents are probably watching and feeling very proud right now.”

Following the conclusion of the 'Pyramid Game,' Jang Da Ah revealed more about their sister dynamic in a previous interview. When asked about her relationship with her younger sister, she said, “When I first expressed my interest in acting, my sister probably thought, ‘Oh, she’s just pursuing something,’ and didn’t pay much attention. Similarly, I don’t offer her much feedback either. We both work hard in our own ways and quietly cheer each other on.”

Their independent yet supportive relationship has sometimes led to speculation about tension between them. However, Jang Da Ah laughed off such claims, saying, “That’s absolutely not true.”
