YOUNG POSSE to sample KARA’s "Mister" for upcoming mixtape comeback
by Minsoo-Kim · allkpopYOUNG POSSE is set to make a comeback next month with a new mixtape that pays tribute to one of K-pop’s most iconic hits.
According to agencies RBW, DSP Media, and Beats Entertainment on June 18, the group—consisting of Sunhye, Yeonjung, Jiana, Doeun, and Jieun—will release its new mixtape, 'YOUNG TAPE', in July.
The upcoming project will feature a track that samples KARA’s global hit “Mister,” bringing a fresh 2026 interpretation infused with YOUNG POSSE’s signature style and energy.
The agencies stated, “We have prepared a bold new version of ‘Mister’ that reflects YOUNG POSSE’s unique color. We hope fans will look forward to it.”
The comeback arrives just three months after the release of the group’s digital single 'we don’t go to bed tonight' in April.
Known for challenging conventions and earning the nickname “K-pop’s rebels,” YOUNG POSSE has consistently pushed musical boundaries with each release. By reimagining one of the defining songs of the 2000s, the group aims to once again showcase its wide-ranging musical spectrum.
The announcement has generated particular interest because YOUNG POSSE previously received praise for its reinterpretation of Seo Taiji and Boys’ classic “Come Back Home” through the track “XXL,” successfully blending old-school hip-hop influences with a modern sound.
Fans are now eager to see how the group will transform KARA’s beloved “Mister” into a version uniquely their own.
Since debuting with “MACARONI CHEESE,” YOUNG POSSE has built a distinctive identity rooted in hip-hop while freely crossing genre boundaries. Through tracks such as “XXL,” “ATE THAT,” and “FREESTYLE,” the group has established itself as one of K-pop’s most unconventional and energetic acts.
With 'YOUNG TAPE', YOUNG POSSE is once again preparing to deliver a bold musical statement that bridges generations of K-pop fans.
