Kwon Eun Bi’s move to Galaxy Corporation falls through amid negotiation differences

According to Star News on April 8, Kwon Eun Bi recently concluded after careful consideration that she would not pursue a transfer to Galaxy Corporation.
Earlier, the singer had opted not to renew her contract with former agency Woollim Entertainment and had explored opportunities with a new agency, with Galaxy Corporation emerging as a likely destination.
Until recently, discussions between Kwon Eun Bi and Galaxy Corporation had been positive, fueled by the agency’s active pursuit. However, the two sides reportedly hit a snag in the final stages of contract negotiation, leading to the collapse of the deal.
Galaxy Corporation, South Korea’s first AI-entertainment tech firm, has expanded its business by combining cutting-edge technologies such as AI and robotics with entertainment content. The company drew attention after securing G-Dragon, a top-tier second-generation K-pop idol, following his departure from YG Entertainment. Since then, Galaxy Corporation has continued to strengthen its roster by bringing in stars including singer Kim Jong Kook, actor Song Kang Ho, and SHINee’s Taemin.
Kwon Eun Bi debuted in 2014 and gained national recognition in 2018 as a member of IZ*ONE through the Mnet audition program 'Produce 48.' After the group’s activities ended, she transitioned to a solo career, releasing multiple tracks such as "Door," "Glitch," "Underwater," "The Flash," and "Hello Stranger."
She has particularly distinguished herself on the stage of “Waterbomb,” a representative summer music festival, earning the nickname “Waterbomb Goddess” for her glamorous figure and captivating stage presence.
On March 31, Kwon Eun Bi announced her departure from Woollim Entertainment, expressing gratitude for her long journey with the agency: "I have concluded my exclusive contract with the agency that has been with me for so long. From my trainee days until now, it has been a precious journey with people who supported me wholeheartedly. Every moment on stage and every effort behind the scenes is a great gift to me. I sincerely thank everyone at Woollim Entertainment."
She added: "I also want to thank my fans who have always supported me. Because of you, I have endured every moment and grown. I now stand on a new path, carrying the love I have received. Whatever path I encounter, I will move forward, cherishing everything I have learned and the love I have been given."
Woollim Entertainment also issued a statement confirming the end of her contract: "We inform you that Kwon Eun Bi’s exclusive contract has ended. After long discussions, we mutually decided to conclude the contract while respecting each other’s opinions. We sincerely thank Kwon Eun Bi for her continuous efforts and diverse performances during her time with us."
