'Colony' surpasses 4 million moviegoers and becomes fastest film of 2026 to reach the milestone

According to the Korean Film Council, ‘Colony’ recorded a cumulative total of 4,000,131 admissions as of 5:12 p.m. KST on June 3, reaching the milestone 14 days after its theatrical release.
With this achievement, ‘Colony’ has become the fastest Korean film released in 2026 to exceed 4 million admissions. The film previously reached 1 million moviegoers on its fourth day, 2 million on its fifth day, and 3 million on its tenth day, continuing its strong box office performance and setting new records for the year.
Directed by Yeon Sang Ho, known for ‘Train to Busan’ and ‘Peninsula’, ‘Colony’ is a zombie thriller that follows survivors trapped inside a building placed under blockade following a rapidly mutating virus outbreak. As the infected evolve in unpredictable ways, the survivors face escalating danger from both inside and outside the quarantine zone.
The film features Jun Ji Hyun, Ji Chang Wook, Shin Hyun Been, Kim Shin Rok, Koo Kyo Hwan, and Go Soo.
