Former MYTEEN and gugudan members become flight attendants after idol group disbandments

Former MYTEEN member Choi Eun Soo and former gugudan member Hana have drawn attention after starting new careers as flight attendants following their departures from the entertainment industry.

Choi Eun Soo recently shared updates about her life as a former idol-turned-flight attendant through social media, sparking interest among fans. She first debuted in 2015 as a member of NPI before re-debuting with MYTEEN in 2017. However, the group ultimately disbanded on August 21, 2019, just two years after debuting.

At the time, Choi Eun Soo said, “MYTEEN disbanded, and each of us went our separate ways. MYTEEN, which I led with all my heart as the leader while receiving love and expectations from You'ths (MYTEEN’s fandom) and many others around us, has come to an end. Enduring the long hiatus was difficult, but I was able to hold on thanks to the Youths who came to see my performances and supported me from afar. I’m very saddened that after our last schedule in January, we were unable to meet again before things ended.”

She added, “This is not the end, but a new beginning,” while asking fans for their continued support.

After MYTEEN disbanded, Choi Eun Soo retired from the entertainment industry. Following her military discharge in 2022, she began working as a cabin crew member for Jeju Air in 2024.

As her recent updates gained attention online, Choi Eun Soo wrote, “Many people ask whether I still have regrets or lingering feelings. Saying I have none would be a lie, but I’m fully satisfied with and happy with my life now.”

Through a video, she also explained how she transitioned from idol life to becoming a flight attendant.

I worked office jobs, at clothing stores, part-time jobs, and hotels before deciding to pursue a service industry career that suited my strengths, especially becoming a flight attendant,” she said. “I worked hard from the application stage to interviews by meeting qualifications, including using the Japanese I learned for promotions in Japan as well as English, and eventually became a flight attendant.

Before Choi Eun Soo, former Gugudan member Hana, whose real name is Shin Bo Ra, also revealed earlier this January that she had become a flight attendant.

Hana debuted with gugudan in 2016 alongside members including Kim Se Jeong, Kang Mi Na, and Kim Na Young. The group disbanded after four years and six months. Hana later changed her stage name to Shin Yeon Seo and briefly promoted as an actress. She has not been active in the entertainment industry since 2023.

After posting photos taken in various countries on social media, Hana responded to fans asking whether she was studying or working abroad.

I’m working as a flight attendant. I fly around everywhere like Hong Gil Dong,” she said.

Hana is reportedly living in Singapore and has been working as a cabin crew member for Singapore Airlines for the past two years.
