MC Mong releases transfer records, denies receiving allowance from One Hundred Label chairman Cha Ga Won
by Demian09 · allkpopMC Mong has directly addressed a series of allegations involving Cha Ga Won, CEO of One Hundred Label, firmly denying claims that he received personal financial support and clarifying the nature of their relationship.
On December 24, MC Mong spoke through a TikTok live broadcast, opening by stating, “Chairman Cha Ga Won and I are not involved in any lawsuits whatsoever. We did absolutely nothing, yet suddenly an article about 12 billion KRW (approx. 8.2 million USD) appeared.”
He continued, “Think about it. If I had been sued, all my assets would have been seized. But I still have my home,” adding that public opinion often misses what truly matters. MC Mong argued that funds he had sent were later misrepresented as money he received, saying the narrative was twisted to make it seem like he was being given allowance money, comparing the framing to something “like a host bar.”
Recently, reports claimed that Cha Ga Won had initiated legal procedures against MC Mong to recover approximately 12 billion KRW (approx. 8.2 million USD) in loaned funds, and that the payment order was finalized after MC Mong allegedly failed to file an objection within the legal period. Following this, speculation arose that MC Mong’s exclusion from One Hundred Label’s operations was tied to financial disputes.
In response, MC Mong publicly shared his transfer records, refuting claims that he received large sums from Cha Ga Won over three years. “The money I sent alone amounts to nearly 3 billion KRW (about 2 million USD),” he explained. “I was trying to save the company and make it work. When we were both struggling, we continued working together by injecting funds however we could. I can provide all the transfer records if needed.” He emphasized that his actions were solely aimed at helping a company in crisis.
Addressing the same-day allegations of an alleged affair with Cha Ga Won, MC Mong spoke emotionally, saying, “I spoke directly with the media. The informant was wrong. They are not someone who can prove anything. All but one of the text messages in the article are fabricated. They pieced together conversations I had with another artist and edited them to look like a romance. That is absolutely unforgivable. I couldn’t help but get upset.”
MC Mong and Cha Ga Won co-founded One Hundred Label in 2023 and served as joint CEOs. However, MC Mong stepped down from the company in July, citing depression and deteriorating health.
Explaining his departure, MC Mong said, “I realized that I had become a risk. No matter how hard I worked, wrote music, or tried to prove myself for the sake of the artists, they were being affected because of me. I felt I had no choice but to leave. If I stayed, I felt like I would completely collapse. Yet articles came out portraying me as if I were drowning in debt.”
