The film 'David' has unveiled a duet music video for its song "Why God My God," performed by Park Bo Gum and Cha Ji Yeon. The movie, which opened on July 10, also made a strong start at the box office, drawing 49,834 viewers in just two days and passing a previous mark set by religious films.

The music video follows the despair of David as he flees into the wilderness from King Saul's jealousy, set against the hope of his mother, Netzebet, who urges him not to lose faith. The song leans on the expressive range of both performers, who deliver their lines as if holding a heartfelt conversation.

Park Bo Gum, playing the adult David, carries the character's anxiety and isolation. Lines such as "Lord, why have you forsaken me" and "I go to the wilderness, escaping the shadow of death" lay bare his vulnerability under threat and give the performance a raw authenticity.

Cha Ji Yeon, in the role of Netzebet, sings lyrics like "When the path is completely unseen, please be the star we follow" and "We are not alone" with real vocal depth, embodying a mother's steady faith that lifts her son even at his lowest. She had earlier shared her affection for the film, saying, "This song is even more moving because it fully contains a mother's love. I hope many people look forward to it."

'David' follows an ordinary shepherd who confronts his destiny to become king, a journey that begins with his mother's song and builds toward his showdown with the giant Goliath. Since opening on July 10, the film has drawn 49,834 moviegoers in its first two days, an early run that outpaced the opening weekend of 'God's Orchestra,' a religious film that went on to draw 1.45 million viewers in total.
