Park Min Young reveals she drank 3L of water daily and changed her lifestyle to lose weight for 'Siren's Kiss'

Actress Park Min Young revealed that she drank more than 3 liters of water a day to lose weight for her recent role.

In 'Siren's Kiss', which airs Mondays and Tuesdays on tvN, Park Min Young plays Han Seol Ah, an art auctioneer who harbors a secret. In the drama, Han Seol Ah becomes a suspect in a series of insurance murders after all of her former lovers die, drawing the suspicion of insurance investigator Cha Woo Seok, played by Wi Ha Joon.

To fully immerse herself in the role, Park Min Young not only lost weight but also changed her daily routine. During filming, she drank more than 3 liters of water a day. The choice was made to realistically portray writer Lee Young’s setting in which Han Seol Ah survives her days on whiskey and water without eating proper meals.

The character, born from Park Min Young’s dedication, left a powerful impression from her very first appearance. In one scene, she carves a wooden bird with a sculpting knife, wearing an unusual expression as blood drips from her hand. She then shocks viewers by tearing apart a painting that had been identified as a forgery. The wood carving scene that highlighted Han Seol Ah’s mysterious charm is especially notable, as Park Min Young performed the wood carving herself.

Park Min Young also sparked viewers’ curiosity about the character with delicate facial expressions that shift between sorrow and chilling composure. When she is investigated following a fatal accident at Royal Auction, she initially responds calmly but soon reveals her unstable emotions through trembling breaths. When faced with questions from insurance investigator Cha Woo Seok, she briefly appears shaken before quickly filling her gaze with hostility, showing a sudden shift in emotion.

Park Min Young’s method of acting as Han Seol Ah can be seen every Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 PM on 'Siren's Kiss.'
