Lim Ji Yeon’s New Korean Drama ‘My Royal Nemesis (Brave New World)’ Tops Netflix Global Non-English TV Chart

Lim Ji Yeon's latest drama, 'My Royal Nemesis (Brave New World),' has captured the attention of global viewers.

According to the latest rankings from Tudum for the August 4–10 tracking period, SBS-TV’s 'My Royal Nemesis' debuted at No. 1 on the Global Top 10 Non-English TV Series chart. Tudum is Netflix’s official rankings platform.

'My Royal Nemesis' follows the explosive romance between struggling actress Shin Seo Ri, played by Im Ji Yeon, who becomes possessed by the soul of a villainous Joseon-era concubine, and ruthless chaebol heir Cha Se Gye, played by Heo Nam Jun.

The drama premiered on May 8 and quickly drew attention with its unique premise of a royal concubine who dies after drinking poison and suddenly wakes up in the 21st century. Lim Ji Yeon’s comedic performance especially received praise from viewers.

The response has been explosive. The series recorded 3.9 million views during the tracking period, a metric calculated by dividing total watch hours by runtime. It also surpassed 9.3 million viewing hours just three days after release.

The drama proved especially popular across Asia and North and South America. It entered the Top 10 rankings in 44 countries and regions, including No. 1 placements in South Korea, Singapore, and Bolivia.

Other Korean content also continued to perform strongly on Netflix. The Netflix series 'If Wishes Could Kill' ranked No. 2 on the same chart with 3.6 million views.

Meanwhile, SBS-TV’s 'Sold Out on You' placed No. 3 with 3.1 million views. Along with 'If Wishes Could Kill,' the series has remained in the Top 10 for three consecutive weeks, continuing the strong momentum of Korean romantic comedies.

Netflix film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' also remained on the charts this week, ranking No. 5 on the Global Top 10 Movies (English) chart. The film has now stayed on the rankings for an impressive 47 consecutive weeks.
