Woody Gochild Opens Up About Life After Near-Fatal Fall, Balancing Rehab and Part-Time Work Before Return to Music

Rapper Woody Gochild shared an update on his recovery following a serious fall accident.

On the April 23 broadcast of SBS PowerFM’s '12 O'Clock with Joo Hyun Young,' pH-1, Lil Boi, Woody Gochild, and Big Naughty appeared as guests.

Woody Gochild, who suffered a fall from a third-floor rooftop in December 2024, made an appearance. At the time of the accident, he said, “I came back from the brink of death. I was reset to zero. At the end of my 20s, I stood at death’s door and was able to breathe again.

Now recovered, he shared, “After the accident, there was a period when I couldn’t make music. I missed it so much.”

He revealed that he balanced rehabilitation with part-time work during his recovery, adding, “I realized how precious it is to be able to express what I want. At that time, Lil Boi asked if I wanted to work on a campaign film together, and I was really grateful.

During the show, DJ Joo Hyun Young mentioned a video showing Woody Gochild juggling rehab and part-time jobs and asked about his current condition following the accident.

He responded, “There was a time after the accident when I couldn’t do music. As that period got longer, I craved it even more.”

He continued, “I realized how meaningful it is to be able to use my voice and express myself again. Around that time, Lil Boi proposed we work together, and I immediately said yes,” explaining the background behind his return.

Previously, Woody Gochild suffered a fall from a third-floor rooftop in 2023. At the time, he said, “It was a dangerous situation that could have cost me my life, but I was fortunate it didn’t lead to a more serious outcome.”

He added, “I went to the brink of death and came back. The fact that I can start again is meaningful,” expressing his determination to return to music after coming back to Seoul.

Meanwhile, Woody Gochild first gained recognition through 'Show Me the Money 6' and 'Show Me the Money 8,' and is currently active as an artist under H1GHR MUSIC.
