Park Bo Young embraces a wild new look to promote ‘Gold Land’
by Alec06 · allkpopPark Bo Young underwent a dramatic transformation to promote her project “Gold Land”.
A video titled “Not Park Bo Young, Not Lee Kwang Soo” was uploaded to the YouTube channel “Ssuk Ssuk” as part of a mukbang-style content series.
The video came about after Lee Kwang Soo suggested a character-themed mukbang shoot to comedian Yang Se Chanback in January. At the time, Lee had announced that he and Park Bo Young would appear in full costume for the concept.
In the video, Park Bo Young and Lee Kwang Soo appeared wearing messy wigs, thick-rimmed glasses, and even hand-drawn facial hair around their mouths. Jokingly, Park Bo Young said, “I’m a different person. I’m not Park Bo Young—I’m Park Jiri.”
During the mukbang featuring tteokbokki and gimbap, Park Bo Young’s enthusiasm stood out. She led the atmosphere on set, even delivering an intense gimbap-eating performance. Noticing Lee Kwang Soo watching her with concern, she quipped, “If you agreed to appear, you should work hard. Why are you looking at me like that?”—drawing laughter. Lee Kwang Soo responded with a lighthearted apology, saying, “I’m sorry.”
Netizens reacted with comments such as, “I can’t even imagine how badly Park Bo Young wants to succeed,” “Lee Kwang Soo’s expression watching her overdo it is hilarious,” and “She’s cute no matter what she does.”
Meanwhile, Park Bo Young recently took on a new acting challenge through the Disney+ original series ‘Gold Land’, which premiered on April 29. The series is a survival thriller about “Hee Joo” (Park Bo Young), who gets her hands on gold bars worth 150 billion won from a smuggling ring and fights to keep them amid a chaotic world of greed and betrayal. She plays Kim Hee Joo, a woman who is forced to return to a past she once wanted to escape.
