BOYNEXTDOOR's 'HOME' achieves new career highs on Billboard 200 and domestic charts
by TelloWoo · allkpopBOYNEXTDOOR wrapped up official promotions for their first full-length album 'HOME' on June 28 with a final performance on SBS's 'Inkigayo.'
The album stormed global charts, debuting at No. 16 on the U.S. Billboard 200 on the June 27 chart — a 24-spot leap from their previous best of No. 40 with 'The Action.' 'HOME' also claimed the top spot on the 'World Albums' chart and landed at No. 2 on 'Top Album Sales,' one notch above their mini-album 'No Genre.'
Back home, 'HOME' moved 1,085,715 copies in its first week on Hanteo Chart, making BOYNEXTDOOR four-time consecutive million-sellers. The album topped both the Hanteo Chart (June 8-14) and Circle Chart (June 7-13) weekly rankings. Over in Japan, it swept the Billboard Japan 'Top Album Sales' and 'Hot Albums' charts, along with Oricon's 'Weekly Album Ranking' and 'Weekly Combined Album Ranking' for June 8-14.
Title track "VIRAL" held its own on digital charts, peaking at No. 5 on Melon's 'Top 100' on June 9. It later hit No. 29 on the daily chart (June 21) and No. 37 on the weekly chart (June 15-21). On Spotify Korea's 'Weekly Top Song' chart, "VIRAL" debuted at No. 57 (June 5-11) before climbing 35 spots to No. 22 the following week — all capping off with a 1st place win on KBS2's 'Music Bank' in June's third week.
'HOME' draws on the members' real experiences from trainee days to their debut as "next-door boys," with all six members — Sung Ho, Riwoo, Myung Jaehyun, Taesan, Leehan, and Woonhak — credited on the album. Up next, BOYNEXTDOOR kicks off their first world tour, 'BOYNEXTDOOR TOUR KNOCK ON Vol.2 IN SEOUL,' with three completely sold-out shows at Seoul's KSPO DOME from July 17 to 19.
